DR. DAILEANN HEMMINGS

System Director of Maternal Health Equity,

Hartford Healthcare

Daileann is a Doctoral prepared nurse with over 20 years of nursing experience specializing in perinatal health. Currently, Daileann is the System Director of Maternal Health Equity at Hartford HealthCare; her work is focused on using evidence-based data to eliminate maternal health disparities.   Her experience in nursing includes travel nursing to some of the country’s top hospitals including, Yale New Haven Hospital and Johns Hopkins Hospital. Daileann studied in Australia to acquire knowledge on public health approaches to promote the use of female condoms, as a barrier protective contraception, designed to help women protect themselves.   Daileann has conducted research, written articles and presented at national conferences, using multi-level educational dissemination strategies to promote women’s health. Her doctoral project focused on providing education to promote patient self-advocacy to decrease the risk of postpartum hemorrhage.   Dr. Hemmings’ community commitment involves domestic and international engagements. Local commitments include serving as a guest speaker, panel moderator, program organizer and guest on multiple news networks. Daileann has partnered with the American Friends of Jamaica to assist with organizing efforts to provide education and support to pregnant teens, in addition to arranging birthing gifts for newly delivered mothers and participating in interviews to disseminate education in Jamaica W.I.      Daileann worked as a professor at the University of Hartford’s RN to BSN program. At the University, her students were active in community settings such as soup kitchens and shelters. They  worked to improve the health and quality of life for marginalized individuals using Participatory Action Research.   Daileann is a Connecticut Health Foundation leadership fellow (class 2012) and serves on several boards, committees and advisories including The Governor’s Council on Women and Girls, Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Help Me Grow, CT chapter of American College of Healthcare Executives and University of Hartford’s nursing board to name a few.

GEORGIA POWELL

 Founder & CEO of Powell Mental Health

Dr. Georgia Powell is a health and wellness strategist, gerontologist, and global mental health instructor and trainer, recognized for her contributions to healthcare innovation. With over 25 years of experience, she has worked extensively with government programs, non-profit organizations, and local communities to implement solutions that improve health outcomes. In previous roles, Dr. Powell managed Medicare Advantage health benefit plans, tobacco cessation programs, and behavioral health initiatives for the State of Connecticut and other state clients. She has a deep passion for coordinating care for adults, older adults, and families, ensuring they have access to the necessary resources to thrive. As the Founder & CEO of Powell Mental Health, Powell Consulting Services, and Powell Health Real Estate, Dr. Powell actively promotes health equity, mental wellness, and systemic improvements in healthcare. Her work focuses on simplifying healthcare processes for individuals, caregivers, and organizations, addressing challenges such as behavioral health program deficits, healthcare access, education, and insurance eligibility. Dr. Powell holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Master of Health Administration (MHA) with a focus on gerontology, and a Doctor of Health Administration (DHA). She is a Certified Mental Health Instructor by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing and an active member of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness). Her leadership extends to advisory roles and board memberships with The Network Against Domestic Abuse, Hartford Hospital and Healthcare, UConn Center on Aging/UConn Pepper Center, North Central Area Agency on Aging, PMH CT PC, and Rehoboth Church of God. She is also a licensed health insurance producer across multiple states.Beyond her professional commitments, faith, family, and service to others are at the core of Dr.Powell’s life. She dedicates time to mentorship, volunteering, and advocating for underserved communities, ensuring they have the support needed to achieve mental, emotional, and physical well-being.Her mission is simple yet profound: empower individuals on their health journey, break down stigmas, provide high-quality resources, and advocate for healthcare equality—all while embracing the balance between career, self-care, and personal fulfillment.

DR. STEPHANIE SAUCIER

Cardiologist

Stephanie Saucier, MD, FACC, RPVI, is a non-invasive cardiologist, co-director of the Women’s Heart Wellness Program for Hartford Healthcare’s Heart and Vascular Institute, and medical director of Hartford region cardiac rehabilitation program she is also an assistant professor with the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Saucier received a Bachelor of Science degree from Quinnipiac University and a Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, as well as a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Connecticut, Hartford. Dr Saucier’s professional interests include improvement and cardiovascular disease prevention and management in women, as well as preventive cardiology and lipid management. She is an executive faculty member for the CT chapter of the ACC WIC, and a committee member on the CT ACC educational committee. As an educator, Stephanie works with cardiology fellows in training and medical residents. She has been principal investigator and sub investigator on a number of clinical trials. She has also worked with Team Heart in the treatment of patients with rheumatic heart disease in Rwanda.
